Medicare Open Enrollment
Medicare Open Enrollment, also known as the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), runs from October 15 to December 7 each year and generally speaking is the period where Medicare beneficiaries may made changes to their health plans. All plan changes made during Medicare Open Enrollment, or AEP, are effective as of January 1 of the following year.
Some Medicare beneficiaries may qualify for certain Special Election Periods (SEP) to make changes to their plans outside of the Medicare Open Enrollment period.
