Medicare Advantage plans must cover all the services Original Medicare covers, including hospitalization and doctors visits. Many Medicare Advantage plans also include additional benefits not covered by Original Medicare.
Beneficiaries who enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan will still pay their monthly Part B premium. Some Medicare Advantage plans have a monthly premium, in addition to the Part B premium, to cover the services included within the plan. Each plan has different costs so it's important to explore your options and understand that plan's benefits and associated costs before you enroll.
Medicare supplement insurance offers coverage that helps you pay out of pocket costs, such as copayments and deductibles. Medicare Advantages plans may offer extra benefits that Original Medicare doesn’t cover.
