Medicare Part D, also known as prescription drug coverage, helps beneficiaries cover the cost of prescription drugs, as well as many recommended shots or vaccines.
Part D prescription drug plans (PDPs) are often bundled into Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans, or offered as standalone plans. However it is important to note that you cannot enroll in both a Part C Medicare Advantage plan and a standalone Prescription Drug Plan at the same time.
Medicare Part D is commonly paired with Medicare Supplement, or Medigap, policies.
